My reading list is way too long!
I always loved reading, and even if I was always more attracted to more unknown works, in recent years I've been broading my horizons. The only issue now is...with less time to read between some responsabilities, social life and chronic pain and illness, I let a ton of reading material pile up greatly! So to motivate myself, I've decided I would sort all of them here as I go to talk about them, and also try to include the ones I drop and why.
Kirei na Kimi ni Korosaretai by Rokakouen and TSUGU Yoshino
I'm currently on chapter 11 of this manga - I got into it because it was recommended by Fujimoto and seemed promising at the first chapter - at first, I was greatly enticed by the perverted main character and his secret desires about his childhood friend. Who doesn't like a good dark yaoi? But I'm struggling to go on, since as it goes on and he reunites with that friend, it turns out he is an inhumane entity who uses the MC to prey exclusively on women, it also feels repetitive already... The idea of the story just being "let's kill suffering women on loop" bores me.
Suna no Shiro by ICHIJO Yukari
I stopped after finishing chapter 6, today. Each chapter is pretty long and packed with so many events, the rythm is really fast. In a way, it makes you feel how Nathalie, the main character, cannot get to process every tragedy happening in her life. So far, my favorite is Elaine, Nathalie's old school friend. She's down to earth, hardworking, caring, clever and wise. I'm ready from very crunchy looking scans, but the art is still beautiful, delicate and eleguant! I'm not a fan of the reccuring age gaps tho, but the manga is from 1979 so I suppose I cannot ask too much from it. I like tragedies and dramas, and this is engaging so far, I'd keep reading if I wasn't too tired! I'm definitely excited to continue it.
