Hunger Games
This has to be one of my favorite books series and one of my longest lasting specific interest, going back to middle school when I found the first book at my middle school's library. I read it a few times, not even knowing it had any sequel, before a family member found me reading it and landed me the two following books!
As much as I see the qualities in the movies, I wish it had kept the meaning of the mockingjay pin, as well as some things like Peeta loosing his leg, or the dog mutts looking like the tributes, or Katniss suffering so much from mental consequences of all the traumatism she was put through. I do like that Effie is more present than in book 3, I only wish the rest of the preparation team aside from Cinna wasn't so absent. I love how Effie was embodied in the movies, seeing her live on the screen is so amazing, and I love to follow her evolution and how the deconstruct herself through her affection for Katniss and Peeta.
I haven't see the prequel's movie yet but I'm very excited for it to be available in streaming. I loved the prequel, I was a bit hesitant at first when seeing on who it was on, but I turned out to absolutely love it. It really shows how Snow didn't really love Lucy Gray, it was all about control all along, even from the first pages, when he needed to focus on what he could control, and we see how a rancid person builds up and starts climbing up to power, leaving others behind.
Return!
